Anthurium ‘Silver Blush x Velvet Eclipse’
Anthurium ‘Silver Blush x Velvet eclipse’ is a hybrid I’ve made from two of my favourite anthuriums!
Silver Blush: A compact anthurium with gorgeous thick velvety leaves , famous for its extra silver veining that can sometimes fill out the majority of the leaf. Green petiols & sinus.
Velvet Eclipse: Dark and large elongated sub velvet leaves with beautiful dark red petiols spreading into the sinus and fading into it’s veins. This was originally bred by Hew at ‘The Green Grower’ using a red papi & dressleri type cross. I’ve scored a winner!
What’s exciting about this cross , is the red traits and darker colouring from the ‘velvet eclipse’ following through. This coupled with the compact and silver veining from the silver blush , could produce some exceptional offspring. Some of these traits are already showing!
***Plants will differ greatly in leaf shape , colouring and slightly in size from what’s pictured above. I’ve chosen traits similar to the description above and discarded the rest, the last photos are of a more mature specimen of the batch and the two mother plants***
